A.C.E - Athletics Creating Esteem

Helping children discover the "athlete within"

This program is designed to help each child to explore and develop their own athletic identity in either individual or small group sessions.

Kinex Academy’s,  A.C.E - Athletics Creating Esteem training program provides a safe environment for the nascent/undeveloped athlete to explore and develop their own athletic identity based in what they feel they are good at doing. We offer bi-weekly sport/athletic development sessions from October to December (Fall Program) and from January to April (Winter Program).

These Athlete/Player Development sessions are open to all levels of ability from ages 3 through 12 years old. The training programs are designed to enhance and promote positive self-esteem through athletics based on a developmental Sport Psychology/Philosophy that is rooted in the child’s love for physical activity and innate desire to feel challenged in their life.

Each small group session has a specific theme that is developed by the participants’ desire to explore and develop their physical abilities through athletic play and games. These sessions provide a low player to Sport Facilitator ratio (maximum of 6 players/coach) and enables players to receive regular and accurate feedback on how to improve their play and skills. Each session promotes body-mind connection by engaging group members into a discussion of their bodily-felt-sense of what they tried, what they learned,  and how they learned to overcome something they found physically challenging.

Individual sessions are also available and operate in the same manner. These sessions are especially valuable for helping children whose confidence has already been shaken by  unpleasant experiences while participating in recreational sport leagues or PE classes.
