Keeping your child excited about learning

(continued)

Studies confirm that children who regularly engage in sports and/or the creative expressive arts develop more self-confidence, are more socially adaptable and perform better academically at school than their less actively engaged peers. While most schools do an adequate job at uncovering and developing child’s analytical, academic intelligence they continue to struggle to teach to a broader range of intelligence including, kinesthetic, emotional and creative intellect. Due to lack of government funding schools struggle to maintain current academic classes and standards often at the expense of physical education and the creative expressive art classes.

Unfortunately for many children their special talents in the areas of kinesthetic, emotional and creative intellect are either never discovered or severely under-developed. This frequently leaves the less academically successful student feeling disenfranchised about learning in general. Helping students through self-exploration uncover their “hidden talents” can provide a firm anchor from which they can develop a positive outlook on the learning process and how their unique neuro-development profile can be self-actualized into ways of being and coping with the world that is both rewarding and self-fulfilling for the child.

We are all better at facing the challenges of the post modern world when we know at our core that we have special talents and that we can draw on those talents to contribute in unique ways in solving some of the difficult problems that confront each and everyone one of us at one time or another. Uncovering the child’s unique abilities and talents in kinesthetic, emotional and creative intellect can only provide a broader resource for learning and coping in the world without which yhere will be no talent development without personal awareness of one’s own innate potential to become what one loves to do. Only in the act of being our talent do we, as individuals become truly what we are. Magnificent”

This self-confidence is vital to everyone’s successful development. Self-knowledge, self-understanding and self-acceptance of our unique talent profile allow us to believe we can find answers to our questions and solve the most difficult life challenges. When one realizes that the journey of life provides the opportunity to uncover and express in the world our unique talents then we can face all challenges as a chance to creatively come into our own best being.

Sports, Athletics and the creative arts are vital for the post modern education of the child. Getting your child engaged in uncovering and developing their unique talents in an embodied manner is the way to keep your child excited about learning.
