All Kinex Slamball Basketball Players must attend a player talent evaluation and try-out scheduled in the last week of October at each school in Mill Valley. The Kinex Academy Try-out Evaluation Process (KATEP) is a talent evaluation system that is designed to give comparative age appropriate skill development standards for playing sports on spontaneous playground teams with peers, school based teams, organized recreational teams, competitive club teams, regional teams, state teams and national teams. We believe that giving developing athletes and their parents clear and accurate feedback on a player’s sport development with clear performance goals for playing at all levels of the sport can help young athletes to focus their sport skills development and training on realistic and attainable performance goals now and in the future.
