Our After School Program conforms to you and your child's needs NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND Neil Cummins After School Program Overview The Kinex After School Club provides after-school enrichment with challenging and engaging recreational activities for boys and girls in grades 1-4. We are located in the Neil Cummins school gym and also use the playground in good weather. By using our proprietary Creative Options group process and Creative Options Dialogue communications technique, our Kinextions Facilitators help children to express their recreational preferences with other children who want to play and learn in the same mode. Small play groups may form, dissolve, and merge into larger play groups at times. Our facilitators ensure that each situation uncovers and integrates whatever lessons are learned during the experience. This approach requires more effort on our part, but it’s worth it to maximize the long-term experience for your child. The Kinextions approach extends your child’s school day in a fun and exciting way that is sure to keep your child activated, motivated, and excited about learning and interacting with other children. They’ll make “Kinextions” that can last a lifetime. Here 's how the 2009 Neil Cummins program works: 1) After School Fun Club Our kinextions aproach allows children the flexibility to uncover and develop their own unique talents during our after school program. We strike a balance between the familiar school yard free play activities your child loves while also exposing them to new activities in sports, performing arts and outdoor adventure games. We offer a wide assortment of facilitiated activities that help each child to discover and develop their own unique social, athletic and creative expressive talents in a nurting and supportive environment. Our caring and professionally trained facilititators each have special expertise in athletics, performing arts, visual arts and technology and education. Our more flexible and fluid approach to learning engages each child's passion for exploration , socialization and creative self expression. We believe that children learn best when they are placed in an environment where they can confidently share their inner motivation and desires to learn through play and discover what they truly love to do while exploring and uncovering new activities that they are naturally drawn to learn and play. Whether your looking for save after school recreation and enrichment on a full time monthly basis or need just a couple of regular days a week or need to be able to drop-in on a moment notice Kinex After School Enrichment program has the flexibility to fit your needs. The Kinex After School Fun Club meets daily, Monday-Friday, from release time up to 6:00 p.m. This is a sample schedule (this changes, subject to release time and each group’s dynamics): 2:20 - 2:30 p.m. Kindergrten and grades 1-2 check-in (Gym) 5:00-6:00 p.m Supervised free time (Gym/playground) Fees: Daily Pass: $30/day (specific weekly single and multiple day after school supervised recreation to 6:00 p.m.). Great for families who need after school supervision on certain days of the week Monthly Pass: $400/month - Fun Club Monthly Pass (Sept 2-30, 2009) Best Value !! 3) After-School Athletic Leagues (starting April 5, 2010)
Please note that this new Kinex After-School Athletic League (KASAL) is being introduced to encourage elementary school-based team formation so children can practice with their school friends and peers. Our intention is to promote healthy competition among regional schools through our KASALs. Please note: we are just developing this as a new inter-school athletics league for elementary school-aged children. As a start-up, the success of the league will depend on multiple school- based KASAL teams being formed for the game, as well as the scheduled meets. Please contact Gerald Gowan if you are interested in putting together a team of your child's friends from your school to compete in this exciting league program. Please email: enrichment@kinexacademy.com, and put KASAL in the subject line. Note: Bike classes have spaces for only 6 riders as we maintain a 1-6 ratio. These camps focus on Slamball to teach baseketball basics in a fun way (with lowered nets), or urban biking skills. These begin immediately after early release and last TWO HOURS. NOTE: If you also need additional time, you can sign up for Fun Club until 6:00 pm. for $25. Please remember to bring an ID with you for pick-up, or CALL to make arrangements for someone other than a parent to pick-up your child. Cancellation Policy A 24-hour notice is required for pre-paid days. Refunds will be given for any cancellation or no show in the event of a medical emergency with doctor’s approval.
